Visual Arts Cycle brings Miguel Soares to Faro for lecture

Miguel Soares, one of the pioneers of digital art in Portugal, will give a lecture on February 7th, at 14:30 pm, at the Penha Campus Penha, University of Algarve, in Faro, under the Visual Arts Cycle. 

Miguel Soares is received at the University of Algarve, where he has already taught, between 2006 and 2008, in the degree in Visual Arts, for a conversation that will have as common denominator digital art, new media and video art.

The artist has a degree in Equipment Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, is currently studying for a PhD in Contemporary Art at the College of Arts of the University of Coimbra and has a patent at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Chiado, until the 24th of February, the LUZAZUL exhibition, a set of several unpublished works, composed of still images of digital composition, presented in light boxes, and moving images, of 3D animation with musical compositions, presented on screens and in projection, with scenes illuminated by photos "real".

Professionally, in addition to teaching, he has maintained a regular artistic career, exhibiting collectively since 1898 and individually since 1991, in Portugal and abroad. He won the BES Photo 2007 award. His work is represented in several public and private collections in Portugal and abroad.
