Costa, Marcelo and Ronaldo are the most media in 2018

Cision selected the 50 most media personalities of 2018 and the ranking was dominated by politics and football

António Costa was the public figure with the greatest presence in the Portuguese media in the year that has just ended. The prime minister was mentioned in 116.885 news, few more than the 114.631 by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The podium of the most media personalities of the year is completed by Cristiano Ronaldo. The captain of the National Team was present in 77.123 news pieces in 2018.

It is in fourth position that the first international name on this list drawn up by Cision appears: Donald Trump. There were 76.456 references made to the US President throughout the year.

The remaining top-10 is dominated by football, with the presence of the former president of Sporting, Bruno de Carvalho, and coaches Sérgio Conceição, Jorge Jesus and Rui Vitória.

In the middle of so much ball, is the president of the PSD. Rui Rio was the sixth most popular personality of the year, with 52.008 news items, more than the other party leaders (Asunção Cristas, Catarina Martins and Jerónimo de Sousa) combined.

Finance minister Mário Centeno closes the list of the ten most talked about, with 34.498 mentions.
