Diogo Piçarra was the winner of the MTV 2018 awards in the Best Portuguese Act category (best Portuguese performance). Piçarra was the Portuguese artist who collected the most votes in the online voting, by public choice.
Bárbara Bandeira, Bispo, Blaya and Carolina Deslandes were also nominated in what is one of the regional categories of the awards.
The EMA awards are awarded annually by MTV, worldwide, having regional categories referring to the countries where the station broadcasts.
The European MTV awards ceremony takes place this Sunday in Bilbao, Spain, with singer Camila Cabello leading the way, with six nominations, including “best song” and “best video”, with the theme of Havana.
Ariana Grande and Post Malone have five nominations each, while both rapper Drake and singer Dua Lipa have four nominations.
