Algarve has a new Michelin restaurant Bib Gourmand

Avenida, from Lagos, received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award and increased the number of Algarve restaurants with this distinction to four.

The restaurant lacobrigense Avenida was distinguished by Michelin with the Bib Gourmand, an award that highlights the best value for money. In the Algarve, the restaurants O Marinheiro, from Albufeira, O Alambique, from Silves, and Don Sebastião, also from Lagos, already had this distinction.

Avenida received the Michelin Bib Gourmand at the awards gala for the Michelin guide, in Portugal, which took place in Lisbon, on 21 November.

At the same ceremony, the Algarve learned that it continues to have two restaurants with two Michelin stars and six with one star, respectively the second and third most important award awarded by the renowned gastronomic guide – the highest is three stars.

Thus, both the Ocean, by chef Hans Neuner, at Vila Vita, located in Alporchinhos (Lagoa), and Vila Joya, in Albufeira, by chef Dieter Koschina, retain their two Michelin stars.

As for the Algarve restaurants with a star in this gastronomic guide, they are Bon Bon (Carvoeiro, chef Louis Anjos), Henrique Leis (Almancil, chef Henrique Leis), São Gabriel (Almancil, chef Leonel Pereira), Willie's (Vilamoura , chef Willie Wurguer), Vista, at Hotel Bela Vista (Praia da Rocha, Portimão, chef João Oliveira) and Gusto (Almancil, chef Heinz Beck).
