The Padre António Martins de Oliveira Secondary School (ESPAMOL) is the only one, south of the Tagus, to have a High Performance Support Unit.

This initiative has the support and collaboration of the Municipality of Lagoa and involves 24 students, athletes in the modalities of swimming, speed skating, handball, canoeing, tennis and golf», says the Chamber.

23 of them attend ESPAMOL and only one attends the Jacinto Correia Basic School.

Students from the 2nd, 3rd cycle and secondary education who have high competition status, who have participated in the national team of the respective sport or who obtain recognition from the respective federation, through a declaration, in accordance with the recommendation of the European Union, can access the project. to Member States.

The Support Units for High Performance at School are technical and pedagogical structures created within the scope of the General Directorate of Education that seek to successfully reconcile school activity and sports practice with high-performance athletes or those belonging to national teams.
