Felizes is the first of 13 locations in Almodôvar to receive LED lamps

725 new LED lamps, which save energy and resources, are being installed

The installation of 725 new LED lamps, in thirteen locations in the municipality of Almodôvar, began on the 19th of October in the village of Felizes.

The Municipality of Almodovarense, which stresses that this intervention "continues its Energy Efficiency strategy that has been outlined for the entire municipality", announces that it is "proceeding to replace the conventional luminaires of the public lighting network, with new technology lighting LED, more modern, economical, ecological and efficient».

Over the next few days, the LED luminaires will progressively be installed, in addition to Felizes, in the following locations: Santa Cruz, Monte dos Mestres, Porteirinhos, Monte da Romba, Telhada, Monte João Silvestre, Corte Figueira Mendonça, Almeijoafra, Monte das Widows, Gorazes, Cercas and Monte Corvos.

The works have a municipal investment worth more than 185 thousand euros. This project has the co-payment of the PPEC program with EDP Comercial.

Over the past five years, several hills in the municipality, as well as the localities of Gomes Aires, Semblana and a large part of the town of Almodôvar, had already received LED lamps in public lighting.

"We continue to comply with our policy of constantly improving the infrastructure in our municipality, ensuring a significant increase in the quality of public lighting, with better safety conditions for everyone, as well as significant savings in EDP's bills in terms of street lighting », stresses the Chamber of Almodôvar.

The objective is, "in the short term", to ensure "100% coverage of LED technology" throughout the municipality, and "other locations will be covered as soon as possible".
