Project that guaranteed Inclusive Vacations to children and young people with disabilities ends with a party

FICA was born from different desires, from different sensibilities, multiplying ambitions, smiles, experiences and, above all, joy

The closing party of FICA – Inclusive Holidays for the Algarve Community, a project promoted by Teia d'Impulsos with the support of the Municipality of Portimão and the Poeta António Aleixo Schools Group throughout the summer, is scheduled for 14 September, the from 15 pm, at Espaço Raiz, located in Pedra Mourinha, in Portimão.

Targeting children and young people with multiple disabilities, residing in the municipality of Portimão, for eight weeks the project «allowed the development of a very diverse set of recreational and occupational activities, including plastic, psychomotor and dramatic expression, ceramics, dance, gymnastics , yoga, cooking, swimming, sailing, beach, among others».

The project was carried out by a technical team hired for the purpose, also counting on «the generous support of families, multiple volunteers and technicians related to the spaces and municipal equipment used – namely the Accessible Beach of Restinga, Sports Complex of Alvor and Quinta Pedagogical”.

The Teia d'Impulsos Association emphasizes that “at the time of the closing of FICA, the intention is to share experiences and, above all, to reflect on the project's future developments, with a view to better responding to the needs felt by families of children and young people with multiple disabilities'.
