There are posters alluding to bullfighting shows illegally posted in the municipality of Albufeira, denounced the PAN. The People-Animals-Nature party went public with an account of what it says is yet another irregularity committed by the promoters of this type of show in that municipality.
According to PAN Albufeira, although the license for placing bullfighting posters on public roads in this municipality was refused, this did not prevent them from being placed.
In addition to this irregularity, there are others, namely the "sound advertising that took place throughout the month of August", which was not included in a letter that the PAN received on 4 September, which stated that "for the year 2018, advertising licenses were granted and paid to the commercial company Toiro das Sesmarias, only for two vehicles with the respective sound advertising for the days 17/05, 22/05, 08/06, 13/07 and 27/07».
This last situation had already been denounced by the Left Block, which wants the Council of Albufeira fine those responsible for this unauthorized sound advertising.
The PAN also stressed that it has been "recurring in questioning the executive about the records of the inspections carried out in 2016, 2017 and 2018 to the Praça de Toros de Albufeira, namely regarding the conditions of the infrastructure, health and safety", through of its elected member for the Municipal Assembly of Albufeira.
The animal rights defense party also requested information regarding animal welfare and its compliance with the law.
In response to "a total of four requests for clarification, the PAN received two letters, which only concern the fixing of advertising".
However, in the request for clarification to the Albufeira City Council, the party asked that the results of the inspections be made known, with a description of the anomalies found. After almost a year, the party still has no answers», he guarantees.
«While, on the one hand, we recognize a change in the executive's official stance regarding the non-authorization of posters on public roads in Albufeira, which is a good principle, on the other hand, we do not understand how it is possible to find them en masse, throughout the municipality, and illegally, countless dozens of posters alluding to barbaric and violent bullfighting spectacles, without anything being done. Did no one see it?”, asks Paulo Baptista, PAN's political commissioner in the Algarve.
