Beja celebrates European Mobility Week with “Stories to stop traffic”

Urban careers will be free for two days

“Stories to stop the traffic”, an eco half-marathon and the exhibition of the municipality's projects to improve accessibility are activities of the European Mobility Week that Beja celebrates from 16 to 22 September.

On the first day, the I Eco Half Marathon of Beringel takes place. The next day, the exhibition of projects from the municipality “Beja Antiga” is inaugurated, to improve accessibility.

These projects will be exhibited at the Visigothic Nucleus, Castle, Prazeres Church, Praça da República, Regional Museum, Jardim do Bacalhau, UNESCO Center and CP station.

Other activities will take place during Mobility Week, such as, on the 19th, a meeting open to the participation of the general public, on the theme “Mobility and Health. A different look… An Equal Look…Accessibilities, Inclusion and Disability”, which will take place at the Igreja da Misericórdia.

For the 20th, the Light Run Nocturne is scheduled, a tour of the city, and on the 21st of September, with the participation of various institutions, there will be activities at the Castle, Largo do Lidador, Praça da República and Largo do Museu.

Some of these activities include a peddy papper discovering the Castelo de Beja, traditional games and tales with “Stories to stop the traffic”.

On September 21st and 22nd, urban careers will be free for everyone.

Traffic will be interrupted at Praça da República and Largo do Lidador, on Friday, September 21st, between 9:00 am and 18:00 pm.
