World record holder for opening oysters won't miss the Seafood Festival in Olhão

Seafood Festival starts this Friday and runs until 15th August

Marcel Lesoille, world record holder for opening oysters, will be present at the Seafood Festival in Olhão, which starts this Friday, August 10th. Until the 15th, Jardim Pescador Olhanense will host «the biggest gastronomic event in the south of the country, a mandatory stopover in the Algarve summer», says the Chamber of Olhão.

The municipality emphasizes that the festival, which will be inaugurated by the Minister of the Sea, offers “excellent cuisine” with the “freshest seafood and shellfish, cooked in the most diverse ways, as only the people of Olho know”.

In addition to the delicacies, there will be "a luxury musical poster", which this year is composed by Agir (10 August), Pedro Abrunhosa (11 August), Ana Moura (12 August), Vanessa da Mata (13 August) ), Calema (August 14th) and Xutos & Pontapés (August 15th).

The 2018 edition of the Seafood Festival will also have the presence of Marcel Lesoille, French master chef and world record holder for opening oysters, who is also a consultant and trainer in seafood products.

Marcel Lesoille will be at the Lusitano Ginásio Clube Moncarapachense space, at the Seafood Festival, every day, until 22 pm, where he will demonstrate his “art” and will try to reach the mark of one thousand open oysters within an hour.

For the municipality, "all the ingredients are gathered for the 2018 edition of the Seafood Festival in Olhão to be another success, once again reaching tens of thousands of visitors in the six days of the event".
