This morning, at around 11 am, a transfer van was lost in Via do Infante, causing three injuries, two serious and one light. The accident occurred before the Areeiro tunnel, forcing traffic to be cut in the direction of Loulé-Faro.
GNR source told the Sul Informação that the driver of the transfer van and a 21-year-old girl, who was one of the two British passengers in the vehicle, were seriously injured. The other passenger, also 21, suffered minor injuries.
The three victims were transported to the Hospital of Faro.
The relief operations involved 19 operational personnel and 9 Firefighters vehicles, including an extrication vehicle.
The road reopened at 13:44 pm.
