The beaches of Inatel and Alemãos, in the municipality of Albufeira, are no longer off-limits, but at Praia dos Pescadores there is still a "bathing advice" after the rain and wastewater discharges that contaminated the water in these bathing areas, last Saturday.

In a statement, José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, said that the results of the water quality analyzes carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency «will guarantee that the waters are again at their desired quality» on the beaches of Inatel and Alemês. On these beaches, the Green and Blue Flags were once again hoisted.

However, at Praia dos Pescadores, the situation has not yet been resolved. Santos Arrabaça, captain of the Port of Portimão, confirmed to Sul Informação that, in this place, «remains unadvised», which means that the yellow flag will remain hoisted, at least, until tomorrow.

José Carlos Rolo explains that the analyzes "refer to the collections carried out yesterday, as the samples collected require an incubation period of 24 hours".

In the statement, the mayor says "he regrets this episode and the inconvenience caused to all holidaymakers, businessmen and citizens" and guarantees that he is "making every effort to prevent episodes of this nature from happening again."
