The Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuzeta installed a new hydraulic crane at the Fuzeta Fishing Port. The equipment will have the capacity to lift loads of up to 250 kilos and will be used to unload fish.
The new crane meets "a need that has been claimed by the fishing community for a long time" in this town in the municipality of Olhão, according to the União de Freguesias de Moncarapacho and Fuzeta.
Its installation is part of an operation that has already allowed for the repair of the floor of the Fishing Port and the placement of stairs and storage bollards along the pier. These works were carried out as part of an application by União de Freguesias to the Mar 2020 Operational Program, which also includes the installation of ten storage houses for fishing equipment next to the existing ones, which are located next to the Camping Park.
The Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuzeta hopes to complete by the end of the year another application that it submitted to the same program, «concerning the placement of a hauling car and respective winch, in one of the ramps in the Fuzeta Riverside Zone».
