After the flowers, the fruits will arrive at the Mercado Fora d'Horas de Silves. The Municipal Market of Silves opens its doors again at night this Wednesday, 11th of July, between 19:00 and 00:00, to present local products in an environment.
This is the second session of the 2018 edition of this event, which is dedicated to the plant cycle. The first took place on the 13th of June and focused on flowers. Today, it will be the fruits and on August 8th the cycle is closed with a market dedicated to seeds.
Tonight, anyone heading to the Silves market will be able to participate in a summer university session of the In Loco association “Thinking Global, Acting Local”, dedicated to the theme “Production: A portrait of the territory”. This initiative aims to "present a global picture of current agrifood production and discuss the status of family farming," according to the organizers of the initiative.
The session hosted by In Loco included the gastronomic moment “It's from here and in season”, with chefs Abílio Guerreiro and Margarida Vargues.
The program also includes a flash mob, commented cinema sessions and various musical shows. This, of course, is in addition to the market, where you can find local products and handicrafts.
The “Mercado Fora d'Horas” is organized by the Parish Council of Silves, with the support of the City Council of Silves.
