The “Seven Valleys Suspense” route is already a success among hikers, but now the Câmara de Lagoa will launch a new route, also along the coast of the county: the “Caminho dos Promontórios”.

It is a 7 km walking route, duly signposted and with relevant information along the cliffs, between the Ferragudo Pier parking lot (a little upstream from the FaroXNUMX from Ponta do Altar) and Praia do Paraíso, in Carvoeiro.

This new pedestrian route passes through some emblematic places on the coast of Lagos, namely the Farol Ponta do Altar, at the entrance to Barra do Arade, located on one of the promontory that gives its name to the initiative, and Torre da Lapa.

Both the new «Caminho dos Promontório» and the restoration of the secular Torre da Lapa will be inaugurated, with a symbolic walk, on the 10th of July. But, whoever wants to, can go and try it.

On the same day, a documentary will also be released that was produced about the history and restoration of Torre da Lapa.

O route of the «Seven Suspended Valleys», which stretches for 5,7 kilometers, connecting Praia de Vale Centeanes to Praia da Marinha, was inaugurated in 2010 and annually receives several thousand walkers. A success that is now expected to be extended to the new «Caminho dos Promontórios».
