JS Algarve argues that "part" of the precarious hotels are young people

Party youth asks that employers be "referenced" so that they can come to "pay fines if there is excessive working hours"

The Algarve's Socialist Youth (JS) went publicly defending that "part" of the precarious workers in the hotel sector, during the summer, "are young".

In a statement, JS says that youth work in this sector is "aimed at raising money to pay for education-related expenses."

For the young socialists, «the lack of labor in the Algarve is essentially related to the lack of working conditions, namely the excess of hours and low wages».

According to JS, “the hotel sector has been improving its results year after year. However, this area is increasingly precarious, where working hours are longer and wages do not increase».

For JS Algarve, “effective regulation of temporary work is essential”. According to this party youth, employers should also be "referenced" so that they can come "to pay fines if there is an excess of working hours as well as a lack of working conditions."

Last week, the Association of Hotels and Touristic Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA) defended that the lack of manpower, «in quantity and quality to meet the business needs of the hotel and tourism sector», it is «one of the biggest structural problems in the Algarve today.

In response, the Union of Workers in the Hotel, Tourism, Restaurants and Similar Industry of the Algarve considered that this problem was due to «low wages and the lack of working conditions».

Sul Informação, remember, you've already done a story about the fact that the Algarve is looking for workers in other regions and abroad to combat this labor shortage.
