Algarve has 14 million to invest in sustainable mobility

City councils can submit applications

14 million euros will be available to invest in projects linked to sustainable mobility in the Algarve. 

In this regard, a notice has already been published for which CRESC Algarve 2020 has reserved an allocation of 7 million euros, with the public contribution of 50% of the eligible expenditure coming from the European Regional Development Fund.

Applications must be submitted at Balcão 2020 by 18:00 on October 1st (1st phase) and December 31, 2019 (2nd phase), additionally.

The remaining 7 million can be accessed by the Municipal Councils.

Aiming to promote sustainability and the efficient use of resources, «this notice is intended for operations previously listed in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Action Plan (PAMUS) of the Algarve aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and promoting the decarbonization of the economy and from society, supporting the development of ecological low-carbon transport models and systems, sequestration measures and new energy consumption patterns.

In line with the specific objectives of CRESC ALGARVE 2020, this notice may benefit the local and deconcentrated central public administration, as well as other collective entities of public and private law involving the realization of partnerships between public and private agents.

In this context, by way of example, the construction of cycle paths or pedestrian lanes, the improvement of the network of collective urban transport interfaces, the improvement of integrated ticketing solutions, the structuring of high demand urban corridors, the development and acquisition are eligible. from equipment to management and information systems to innovative and experimental transport solutions and other actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in high concentration areas.

Developed by the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL), PAMUS was prepared following a public tender launched by CRESC ALGARVE 2020 on November 11, 2015 with the aim of drawing up three plans at a subregional scale (Barlavento, Algarve Central and Sotavento ).
