A conference on education and cinema will be held on July 10, at 15 pm, in the auditorium 30 of the Penha Campus Pedagogical Complex, of the University of Algarve (UAlg), in Faro. 

This conference, entitled “Cinema and Education: from production to reception”, presents an inverse perspective to the usual, from the point of view of cinema and audiovisual, to reflect on how Education – as reading of the world (Paulo Freire) and responsibility Around the World (Hanna Arendt) – contributes to the processes of artistic creation, whether in decentralized production, in collaborative processes, in creation projects that incorporate the experience of the audience, in the pedagogies of images.

Paula Nunes, professor and researcher at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), will participate in this initiative, free of charge, to share and discuss the possibilities of the meeting between Cinema and Education, namely the methodologies and experiences of knowledge production through cinema and audiovisual in Education.

Ana Paula Nunes is adjunct professor of Cinema and Audiovisual at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB).

With an academic background in Cinema (master and graduated from the Fluminense Federal University), she holds a PhD in Contemporary Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Bahia - UFBA (2016), having held "Sandwich Doctorate" at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication, at the University of the Algarve (2014).

He has been working and researching about cinema and education since 1998, when he became a member of the NGO CINEDUC – Cinema e Educação.

The initiative is promoted by the Center for Research in Arts and Communication (CIAC) of the University of Algarve and Cineclube de Faro.
