Algarvian Rafael Ponte wins Portuguese Boxing Cup

Rafael Ponte is coached by a former coach from Bento Algarvio

The Algarve boxer Rafael Ponte was, last Sunday, 29 July, champion of the Portuguese Cup, in the 69 kg category. The athlete from the Ginásio Clube Olhanense was the only representative of the Algarve Boxing Association in this competition that took place in Aveiro.

Rafael Ponte, 23, eliminated José Semedo, a Sporting athlete in the semi-finals, before winning the final against a FC Porto boxer.

The athlete from Olhão is guided by Carlos Félix, a coach who has coached other boxers, including Bento Algarvio.
