The City of Lagos approved changes to the municipal regulation on horses and donkeys. The document now includes the figure of "abandoned animal" and speeds up the passage of seized animals that are not claimed for the municipality's ownership, so that they can be sold "to third parties who can provide them with the necessary conditions of dignity", according to Câmara de Lagos .

The proposal to amend the “Municipal Regulation on the Grazing of Equidae and their Permanence and Transit in Public Space in the Municipality of Lagos” was approved this Wednesday, June 20th.

The main changes, revealed the municipality of Lacobrigense, relate to "the introduction of the concept of "abandoned animal" and the reduction of procedural deadlines, allowing a faster transfer of ownership to the municipality of seized animals that are not claimed" .

The regulation was also adapted, with "the withdrawal of rules on aspects that are already foreseen and enshrined in the Highway Code, to which the document refers".
