"The coach [Jorge Jesus] was the person who showed the most common sense in this whole situation and who resolved, at least temporarily, the situation." That's how Vítor Oliveira, coach of Portimonense, commented today on the situation of malaise that has been experienced in recent weeks at Sporting.

The Portimonense coach's statements were made during the press conference to preview the game with the Lions, scheduled for this Saturday, at 20:30, at the Municipal de Portimão, which already has a full house.

“Everything else we know is through the media, some things are true, others not so. We don't really know how things happen in there: whoever puts on the shoe knows where to squeeze it. All the rest are opinions that are worth what they are worth: they are often not well founded, not very clear and, often, to sell newspapers», added Vítor Oliveira.

The coach of the Algarve was also asked to comment on other cases, such as the anonymous complaint regarding the goalkeeper of Marítimo. Vítor Oliveira classified it as “a little joke of a daring man who decided, in defense of his club color, to file an anonymous complaint with the Attorney General's Office. If they were not given so much value, these situations would probably be minimized».

It is that, he stressed, "too much importance is given to situations that we all know do not exist". "This thing about the goalkeeper of Marítimo seems to me so ridiculous that, if they didn't give it to the media, it would probably pass by and football would come out of this situation unscathed."

Therefore, the coach of the Portimão club left an appeal, for the sake of football, which he classified as a “fantastic sport”: “football has so many important things to deal with, we have so many problems in our football, of various levels, but we limit us to these disputes that do not make any positive contribution to football. On the contrary: they are systematically denigrating football».

"And this is done by sports agents, by people who make a living from football and who should treat football better," lamented Vítor Oliveira.
