Cheese and wine are once again “kings” of the event in Faro

The Cheese and Wine Fair takes place from the 19th to the 22nd of April, in the Manuel Bivar Garden, in Baixa de Faro. 

 

This event, «like the previous ones, will bring to the Algarve capital «a sector still unknown by many», says the União de Freguesias de Faro, organized by the initiative.

The event allows "its visitors to deepen their knowledge in an area of ​​great strategic interest for the economy of our country and that needs to be valued and promoted, reinforcing territorial cohesion and the importance of endogenous products in the economy, tradition and Portuguese identity'.

During these four days of the fair, visitors can find, in the more than 800 square meters of space, an area of ​​small pubs where they can taste cheeses, sausages, sweets and regional wines.

Another area of ​​this fair is filled, in its essentials, by producers from almost all over the country, highlighting the famous cheeses from Serpa, Nisa, Moura, Serra da Estrela, Serra da Gardunha, Mirandela and, how could you not? stop being, a wide range of wines from regions such as the Algarve, Alentejo, Bairrada, Beira Interior, Dão and Douro.

Wine lovers will be able to purchase the glass alluding to the event and visit the stands to taste the different types of wines or take advantage of the fair's promotions and buy, in addition to bottles, the wine by the glass of their favorite brands.

Altogether, there will be more than three dozen stands that will promote and publicize the best in the wine and cheese sector, as well as in the regional production of sweets, liqueurs and sausages.

This initiative is free to enter and the public will also be able to count on some cheese, sausage and wine tastings and an exhibition of regional Algarve handicrafts.

The opening hours are Thursday and Friday from 17:00 pm to 24:00 am and Saturday and Sunday from 15:00 pm to 23:00 pm. The tavern area opens at 12:00.
