The children's musical “Milho por Peixe”, which speaks of citizenship and humanism to the youngest, takes place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of May, in the auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

This show is the result of an artistic residency held in January 2018, at the invitation of Madalena Victorino (Choreographer and Cultural Programmer), where a musician, a dancer and the artistic eye of Giacomo Scalisi joined.

Each one with different qualities and knowledge, inspired by a short story orally collected from the West African coast, in the Republic of Togo, and created a musical, «where simplicity and authenticity are notorious for the absence of an elaborate set design or special effects». says the organization.

Using instruments from different cultures, this show «stands out for the musical richness where the narrative is sung, using universal styles such as rap or reggae and more specific ones such as Chula or traditional Ewe music from Togo».

It is a musical «where the protagonists transport us with subtlety to the scenarios of the story, generating an environment that makes it interactive. Your message is timeless. It upholds values of humanism and global citizenship, where virtue lies in the union and acceptance of differences, promoting mixture and cooperation between cultures, peoples, peoples and villages».

On the 10th and 11th, the sessions for schools take place at 10:30 am and 14:00 pm, while on the 12th, the session for families takes place at 15:00 pm.
