The Interpretation Center at Sítio das Fontes, in Estômbar, will host, on the 29th of April, a workshop and exhibition dedicated to Bonsai.
Lagoa, Cidade Educadora 2018, associates itself with this ancestral art as a way to spread the taste for the use of Mediterranean species for ornamental and landscape purposes.
The workshop, developed in partnership with Clube Bonsai do Algarve, will take place between 09:45 and 17:30 and will give registered Bonsai owners the opportunity to understand a little better these small trees and the ecosystems where they grow.
«Vineyards, olive groves, cork oak forests, almond groves and other dryland orchards, among various ancestral and sustainable forms of land use, are unavoidably part of a landscape that we should be proud of, cherish and develop, and which should be part of what defines us as Algarve, Portuguese and Mediterranean», stresses the organization.
The Bonsai exhibition, on display at the Nature Interpretation Center at Sítio das Fontes, will serve to explain the origins and the main techniques involved in obtaining true living works of art.
