«He is risen as he said! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!». It was with the centuries-old litany and the equally ancient tradition of the Florida Torches that São Brás de Alportel celebrated Easter, the day on which Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ.

The tradition of the Celebration of the Hallelujah has once again been fulfilled in this Algarvean village. The streets were decorated with carpets of flowers of the most varied colors, the men made the Torches, which were also decorated with flowers, and the population paraded through the streets of São Brás.

Seeing them, they were, as usual, many curious, between Portuguese and foreigners. This is a unique religious manifestation in the country, whose origins date back to the XNUMXth century. Even so, there are many who, despite not being religious, join the party and go out into the street with torches.

O Sul Informação show him how the party went this year.
