The Irene depression, centered in the north of the Azores archipelago, will not bring bad weather to the continent, but will cause an increase in maritime agitation on the west coast, starting this Tuesday. The districts of Faro and Beja will be under a yellow warning, issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere, due to waves from the northwest with 4 to 4,5 meters.

This notice takes effect tomorrow, the 17th, from 21 pm and remains active until noon on Wednesday, the 00th.

According to IPMA, the Irene depression “will have no influence on the weather in the mainland and Madeira archipelago, which are under the action of an anticyclone located in northern Europe and which extends in a crest to the Madeira region. , affecting the Azores archipelago more directly».

However, according to the institute, “an increase in maritime agitation is expected, starting tomorrow the 17th, with waves of
northwest with 4 to 5 meters along the entire western coast of the continent».

For the next few days, in the Algarve, according to the website Meteofontes «we will not have rain and temperatures will start to rise a little».

This Tuesday and Wednesday «we will have days with less cloudy skies and a rise in maximum temperatures, which will be around 24º in the Algarve and 26º in the Vale do Tejo».

As for Thursday, «we will have an increase in cloudiness during the afternoon in the interior North and Center and we will continue with light cloudy skies in the South. The highs will continue above 20ºC».
