The João de Deus House-Museum, in silves, will be closed to the public until the 4th of May, for the carrying out of works to improve and maintain this museum space.
According to the Municipality of Silves, the intervention will allow for an improvement in the conditions of use and provision of services for this equipment».
The João de Deus House-Museum «is a recreational, educational and cultural space, divided into different sectors and/or spaces that complement each other and that aim, among other things, not only to preserve the “memory of the place”, making known the life and work of João de Deus, in a triple perspective – as a Man, as a Poet and as a Pedagogue, as well as reliving collective memories and identity, in multiple activities, where Education, Arts and Knowledge of the Surroundings have a preponderant role”, according to the municipality, responsible for the intervention.
