João Lourenço and Carlos Clímaco are two athletes from the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the modality of motocross and windsurf, whom the Municipality of this municipality will support during 2018, in their participation in national and international competitions.

According to the sponsorship contracts signed today between President Adelino Soares and the two athletes, these will be financed in an amount of 7.500 and 2.000 euros, respectively. how to make reference to support in communication actions with the media.

The local authority stresses, in a press release, that the values ​​attributed will be «a strong contribution towards the co-payment of the respective athletes' expenses» and will contribute «to improve the conditions for their participation in the competitions that will take place throughout the year».

Pilot João Lourenço represents, once again, the French brand Sherco Motorcycles and will participate in the National Enduro Championship (8 races), in the Baja Portalegre 500 and in the International Six Days of Enduro, where he will represent the Portuguese team.

Carlos Clímaco for more than a decade participated in national windsurfing competitions as non-federated and, after a two-year break, he returned to competition in 2016 as a federated, having ranked 5th in the overall ranking of the National Slalom Championship, and 1st in its Grandmaster category (veterans).

In 2017, he participated in two stages of the National Championship, at Praia do Martinhal and Praia de Alvor, in which he won 3rd and 4th places, respectively. He also participated in the long distance race DefiWind, in Gruissan, France.

In 2018, the athlete intends to participate in three events of the National Slalom Windsurfing Championship, one stage of the World Championship (PWA) to be held in Viana do Castelo, two events in Spain and in the Defiwind event, in Gruissan, France.
