More than 70 companies from various business areas are at the Penha Campus, at the University of Algarve, recruiting workers, until this Thursday, in the third edition of the UAlg Careers Fair.
With each passing year, the number of companies and students registered for this event has increased, which this year forced an expansion of the space where the fair takes place, with a tent being installed outside the Penha Pedagogical Complex, to accommodate more companies .
Andre Botelheiro, coordinator of the Communication and Protocol Office of the University of Algarve, told the Sul Informação that “there were close to a thousand students enrolled and there was also an increase in companies and job offers this year. The vacancies are around 500, between internships and contracts».
According to the university's communication officer, there are companies "in various areas such as tourism, technologies, services, in the agri-food sector, or health", which end up covering all areas of study in the Algarve academy.
André Botelheiro explains that «there are companies, for example in tourism, that are recruiting for areas such as marketing, information technology, or even health».
The labor market «is dynamic and the fair reflects this trend. It's like a barometer. Obviously we are in the Algarve, a tourist region and the demand from tourism companies is also reflected here», he concludes.
