190 students from the 1st cycle of the municipality of Lagoa participated in the 2nd edition of Semana Verde, which took place between the 19th and 23rd of March, bearing in mind that «learning operates through experimentation» and «Lagoa assumes itself as a City Educator».

The young students had the opportunity to participate in the educational activities developed in the Municipal Park of Fontes de Estômbar.

Planting autochthonous species that you can then see grow and contact with «Meteorology and Meteorological Observation» were some of the actions promoted by this environmental education project.

The event, which focused on initiatives such as the Forum on Environmental Education for Citizenship, raising awareness of the importance of conserving the natural forest and preserving green areas, ended with the intervention of biologist Carlos Silva in a commemorative gathering of World Meteorology Day at the Municipal Library of Lagoa.

The technician and vice-president of the Lisbon Region of Quercus-National Association for the Conservation of Nature was the guest of honor of this initiative, entitled "Citizenship and Environment".

Green Week thus assumed a transgenerational character, involving community agents, students, teachers and the population in defense of a greener municipality.
