The first training course in wine tourism, promoted by Câmara de Lagoa with the support of Turismo de Portugal and the Association of Wine Routes of Portugal, will take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of March, at the Convento de S. José , in that city.

The training, aimed at professionals in the sector, will last 130 hours and will be certified by Turismo de Portugal. It runs from 10 am to 13 pm, on those three days of the week.

Providing trainees with techniques and knowledge that enhance the experience of visiting a wine tourism unit, as well as the use of tourist resources in the region, are the main objectives of the training.

Lagoa belongs to the Algarve wine region and the geographical area that corresponds to the Controlled Designation of Origin “Lagoa” and has an important historical and cultural heritage around the vineyard and the production of wine. It is part of the Algarve Wine Route and has several hotel projects linked to wine tourism.
