Youngsters from various parts of the Algarve will compete in the “Regional Complete Swimming Tournament – Cadets” on the 17th and 18th of February, in the Municipal Swimming Pools of Lagoa.

In competition will be 120 athletes, aged between 8 and 12 years (male and female), who will represent 12 clubs in the region.

According to Câmara de Lagoa, which organizes the event together with the Algarve Swimming Association (ANAlgarve), this is "one of the most important tournaments in the competitive calendar for the youngest swimming category".

"It stands out among the other tournaments because of the need for swimmers to try to reach the best possible mark in the five tests provided for in the competition, without committing any technical failure, as these determine the impossibility of scoring for the final classification", explained the Lagoon municipality.

On the 17th, the first session starts at 15:30 pm. On the 18th, the tests start at 9:3 am.
