Lagos already has 12 bio-healthy parks in the municipality with the aim of «encouraging outdoor sports, as well as counteracting sedentary lifestyles». 

This also encourages socializing, increasing health benefits.

According to the Câmara de Lagos, «in addition to the various activities and projects that exist in this area, the municipality has made an effort to ensure the coverage of the county with parks and equipment that allow the informal practice of outdoor physical exercise for the population adult'.

Bio Healthy Park in the Green Ring

The equipment installed «aims to provide a set of activities that can strengthen, relax, stretch, stimulate agility and promote the flexibility of the muscle groups of the human body».

Four parks of this nature were recently installed in the municipality: a bio-healthy park in Odiáxere (Largo dos Passarinhos), worth around 5 thousand euros, under the Lagos Participatory Budget, and parks in Almádena, Espiche and Barão de São João , with a global value of around 15 thousand euros, at the initiative of the Municipality of Lagos.

To these, there is the installation (already carried out, in partnership with the municipality's Parish Councils) of eight more.

Bio healthy park

Namely: bio healthy park in Parque da Cidade/Anel Verde, bio healthy park in Parque Urbano/Zona Verde de Bensafrim, bio healthy park in Ameijeira, bio healthy equipment and António Júlio Correia Games park (next to Bairro dos Pescadores), bio healthy park in Luz (Rua da Várzea, with access to the beach) and bio healthy parks in Portelas, Chinicato and Sargaçal.
