Temperature decrease and wind intensification, with gusts of up to 75 km/h on the west coast and up to 85 km/h on the highlands, is the forecast of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere for tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.

This change in weather is due, according to IPMA, "to the transport of a mass of cold air, transported in the circulation of an anticyclone located to the northeast of the Azores archipelago, extending in a crest towards Iceland."

what if, in Faro and in the remaining locations on the Algarve coast, the drop in temperature will not be as sharp, with minimums of 16°C tomorrow and 15°C on Saturday and Sunday, and highs of 29°C on Friday, 26°C and 27°C at the weekend, in Aljezur and in Monchique the temperatures will already be autumn.

Thus, in Monchique the lows will range between 11 and 12ºC, while the highs will go from 20ºC (tomorrow) to 23ºC (Saturday). In Aljezur, the minimum will be 10ºC on Saturday and Sunday, while the maximum will be 22ºC over the three days.

The IPMA adds that, “together, the variation of these two parameters [temperature and wind] leads to an increase in the Thermal Discomfort Index, especially during the night and morning, when the lowest temperature values occur”.

On weekends, the minimum temperature will vary between 10 and 14 °C in coastal regions and between 6 and 12 °C in the interior. The maximum temperature should range between 20 and 23 °C in the North region, and between 23 and 27 °C in the Center and South regions.

The good news is that the sun should continue to shine, albeit sometimes with some clouds, across the Algarve. And temperatures, especially the minimum ones, will start to rise again, starting on Tuesday.
