The economy minister will be in Alvor on Thursday, 28 September, for the presentation and launch of the project for the new hotel of the Pestana Hotel Group, which will be built at Quinta da Amoreira and represents an investment of 50 million euros.

According to the hotel group, the new unit will have "a strong sustainable vocation", being a "pioneer project in Portugal, conceived from scratch for the segment all inclusive of 5 stars'.

The ceremony that marks the start of construction of the project will take place at 17:30 pm on Friday, and, in addition to minister Manuel Caldeira Cabral, will also be attended by Isilda Gomes, mayor of Portimão, and Pedro Lopes , administrator of the Pestana Hotel Group for the Algarve.

The result of an investment of 50 million euros, the future Pestana Quinta da Amoreira will generate 300 direct jobs in the region.

Last April, when the Sul Informação reported firsthand this investment by the hotel group, the administrator Pedro Lopes had said that the new unit will have «450 accommodation units», becoming the largest Pestana hotel.

In the Algarve, the Pestana Hotel Group already has 17 hotel units, 13 Pestana Hotels & Resorts and three Pousadas de Portugal and five golf courses.
