Lagoa and Ferreiras won in the first round of the first division of the Algarve Football Association District Football Championship, played this weekend, and lead the league table.
Lagoa beat Culatrense, playing at home on loan, in Moncarapacho, by 1-3, while Ferreiras, also playing away, beat Quarteira by 0-2.
The Algarve Clube de Futebol, which ensured its presence in the first level of football in the Algarve by winning the 2nd Division last season, withdrew from the competition and was replaced by Carvoeiro United.
Due to this fact, the game of the first round, between Immortal and the team from Carvoeiro, was postponed to a date yet to be announced.
Sambrazense, another team that also won the promotion, tied in the first round (1-1) in the visit to Messinense.
Esperança de Lagos and Quarteirense, two teams that are candidates for the top places in the table, canceled each other out and divided the points.
