The procession of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, patron saint of Ferragudo, takes place on August 15, at 18:00, on the Arade River.
This traditional procession will be accompanied by the Banda Filarmónica Portimonense.
The route, which begins at the Institute for Relief to Castaways (ISN) of Ferragudo, will enter its maritime route, continuing on to the Navy wharf and return to Praia Grande, the procession returning to begin the overland route at Salva Vidas, where the blessing of boats and fishermen will be carried out.
After the blessing, the procession will this time follow the streets of Ferragudo towards Largo Rainha Dona Leonor, following its path to the church.
This year, in addition to the religious program that will take place after the 12th at the Church of Ferragudo, the two feast days (14th and 15th) will change places so as not to harm the vacationers who frequent Praia Grande and Angrinha, thus keeping the park in operation without restrictions.
The parties will then be held at Jardim do Regato, taking advantage of the logistical conditions already in place, with a night of Fado on the 14th of August with Teresa Viola and Pedro Viola followed by popular music with the singing group Fonte Nova.
On August 15, after the procession, at 21 pm, the fair will take place in the same place, where there will be musical entertainment with Companhia Limitada, followed by a performance by Cathy and her dancers.
The night of August 15th will close at 23:59 with a firework in the riverside area of Ferragudo.
To carry out these celebrations, the Festivals Committee has the support of the Municipality of Lagoa, Lagoa's National Republican Guard, Lagoa's Volunteer Firefighters, Portimão's Port Authority, Institute of Aid to Shipwrecks and businessmen, merchants, fishermen and the population of Ferragudo .
