The Municipality of Mértola, in partnership with Darksky® Alqueva, organizes a training workshop dedicated to the theme of astrotourism and the implementation of this niche product in the territory of Mértola, in an initiative scheduled for September 19, from 15:00 pm.

The following day, at 18 pm, at Monte do Guizo, there will be a Creative Walk with Stars, a pedestrian itinerary to creatively discover the unique beauty of Mértola's sky.

The astrotourism workshop is aimed at tourist operators in the municipality or with tourist activities in the territory: accommodation, tourist entertainment companies, restaurants and tourist guides.

Following this first training initiative, the base of the Darksky® Alqueva tourism network will be created in Mértola.

In addition to the contents referring to the general characteristics of this market niche, within the scope of this training, practical proposals for the application of this tourist product in the field will be built.

This action is part of the GO2Mértola project, which the Municipality of Mértola promotes under the Alentejo 2020 Program (Operation ALT20-08-2114-FEDER-000071 ).

Enrollments are open until 15th September, through the e-mail [email protected]. For more information, please contact the Tourism Development and Promotion Office (GDPT) of the Municipality of Mértola 286 610 100.
