Telephone lines to vote in Paderne, which is one of the 14 finalists in the “7 Wonders- Aldeias de Portugal” contest, will open this Sunday, at 21:10 pm, during the program best off of the seven galas already held.
Voting will only close on the 3rd of September, at the Gala Final, conducted by Catarina Furtado and José Carlos Malato.
In all, 14 villages are now vying for first place in seven categories: Rural Villages, "Authentic Villages", "Monument Villages", "Villages in Protected Areas", "Remote Villages", "Sea Villages" and Riverside Villages”. The seven winners will be selected by the highest number of votes in each category.
“It is with great pride that we see the our village of Paderne reach the finalist of this competition, becoming one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal”, confesses the mayor of Albufeira.
Carlos Silva e Sousa appeals to everyone's vote, especially from the Algarve, as “Paderne is the only village in the Algarve finalist and will represent the entire region”.
To vote for Paderne, just call 760 10 70 03, from this Sunday until September 3rd.
The Municipality of Albufeira stresses that, «if the village of Paderne wins, it will become the third wonder of the Algarve, in the category of “rural villages”, after the election of Ria Formosa, in 2010 (7 Natural Wonders) and de Odeceixe, in 2012 (7 Wonders Beaches).
