Many bikers they are already a regular presence, others will come for the first time, but they are all moved by the same passion. The 36th International Meeting of the Motoclube de Faro “starts” on Thursday, July 20th, and until Sunday it will be “always accelerating”, with concerts, a bike show and the traditional Sunday closing parade through the streets of the Algarve capital.
José Amaro, president of the Motoclube de Faro, told the Sul Informação that everything is being prepared, with «15 entries» of motorbikes.
This number will be joined by other participants, which means that «24 to 25 thousand people» are expected in Vale da Almas, next to the airport of Faro.
One of the components of the Concentration is the musical poster, which this year features names such as UHF or The Gift. Of course, the style of music heavy metal There will be no shortage of them either, and for that, the presence of the American Ugly Kid Joe is guaranteed.
And as there are different tastes, whatever the context, Rita Guerra will also act in this event. The singer has a calmer style of musician, even tending towards the romantic, but "it gives a good show and, when that's the case, it's in the spirit," explained José Amaro.
This concentration will also have the 26th edition of the bike show, in the Vale das Almas, as well as street entertainment with «closer proximity to the people», and concerts on Friday and Saturday, in Baixa de Faro.
As for the police forces, an issue that has already raised controversy in previous concentrations, José Amaro guaranteed that "everything is agreed".
"We've already had meetings and there won't be a large police force during the event because there's no need for that." Even so, "the police forces will always be present," he said.
When it comes to the nationalities expected in what is the biggest event for motorcycle fans in Portugal, expectations are normal: more Spanish and Portuguese, but also many English and Irish.
For now, it is certain that the presence of bikers on the roads of the Algarve it is already noticeable, namely on the EN125. And reasons to go to Concentration are not lacking.
Because, in addition to spending days with other motorcycle lovers, one of the participants will be the lucky recipient of a trip to Daytona, in the United States of America, which is one of the "sanctuaries" of motorsport around the world... and with a new bike.
