A fire broke out in the car depot of the rent-a-car company Zitauto, behind the Regional Directorate of Agriculture, in Patacão (Faro), has already destroyed several cars and is still active.
the reporter from South Informationthe on-site found that the fire had spread to several cars. Abel Gomes, 2nd Commander of the CDOS, told reporters at the scene that there are at least four dozen vehicles destroyed or damaged by the flames.
The smoke column from this fire, which is now under control, is visible from a long distance.
The fire is being fought by 51 operational (from Firefighters Sapadores and Volunteers of Faro and also from São Brás de Alportel, Olhão and Loulé), supported by 17 vehicles. The alert was given at 14:18 pm.
The place used to park the rental vehicles is, like the Sul Informação found (and as you can see in the photo), a farmland, full of dry and tall grass.
This is at least the second time that vehicles from rent-a-car companies in the Faro they are a pasture of flames. In December 2015, the same happened with LuzCar, as the Sul Informação then it took over.
