A group of five soldiers and one faroswath belonging, mostly, to the Direction of Lighthouses and to the Clube do Sargento da Armada, departing on the 9th of June of the farol of Caminha (in Minho), with the aim of connecting, by bicycle, all the lighthouses in mainland Portugal. The adventure ends in Vila Real de Santo António.

​The challenge consists of nine stages, passing through 27 lighthouses, totaling approximately 950 kilometers, from Caminha to Vila Real de Santo António.

Each member of this team carries an individual route credential, which will be stamped on each farol, so that its passage through the headlights is symbolically signaled.

In addition to «a playful activity and an opportunity for personal improvement», this team also aims to «disclose the importance of lighthouses as signaling equipment related to coastal safety, and get to know better the profession of faroMaritime Authority, stresses the National Maritime Authority.
