The new theater play by the Al Teatro group is called “Oxalá” and addresses the Arab cultural heritage of Silves, and premieres this Thursday, June 29, at 22 pm, at the Casa da Cultura Islamica e Mediterrânica in that city.

“Oxalá” is a show of site specific, which includes the participation of the AL Teatro team and a group of actors who are part of the New Theater Group Amador de Silves, formed by AL Teatro during the last year.

With a maximum capacity of 40 spectators per session, the show, spoken in Portuguese, English and Arabic, will feature several presentations throughout the summer, "that will transport the audience to a world of different sensations and emotions", according to the Chamber of Silves.

In a first phase, it will be on stage from June 29th to July 2nd and from July 4th to 6th, always at 22 pm, with free donations.

AL Teatro is financed by the Ministry of Culture / General Directorate of Arts and for this production it has the support of the Municipality of Silves, the Luso-Arab Studies Center, Paxa Wines, Atlier 2L, Handicrafts AZB and Amorim Isolamentos.
