Twelve straight hours of water sports, such as kite surfing, windsurfing, stand up paddle and candle. This is the proposal of the second edition of the “Water Kings” event, to be held from 12:00 on July 1st to 00:00 on the 2nd, at Meia Praia, in Lagos.

The goal of this challenge is just one - to make 60% of the number of laps and get the status of water man or even Water King.

For those who cannot be in Lagos during the event, it will be possible to follow the race online through an interactive map with the ranking, speeds and positions of teams via GPS updated in real time.

In a co-organisation of the Municipality of Lagos and Lufinha Sports Events, the “Water Kings” «intends to demonstrate the potential of the Municipality as a privileged destination for the practice of nautical sports, while providing an innovative challenge to athletes», explains the lacobrigense municipality .

This is because Lagos «hosted the first edition of the “Water Kings” last year and, thanks to its success, the municipality decided to invest in the second edition», he adds.

According to Francisco Lufinha, world record holder for kitesurf and organizer of the event, «we are very excited to re-organize the event in Meia Praia, this time closer to Marina de Lagos and the city».

The second edition of “Water Kings” has the support of Docapesca, São Gonçalo Lagos Hospital, Marina Club Lagos Resort and Sopromar.
