Goat cheeses from the Algarve or Serpa and Nisa, wines from the Algarve, but also from Alentejo and Bairrada, and sausages are attractions of the 4th edition of the Feira do Queijo e do Vinho de Faro, to be held from 20 to 23 April, at Jardim Manuel Bívar.

Organized by the municipal company AmbiFaro, the event will have «more than 800 square meters of space», where, in addition to the taverns of regional products (such as cheeses, sausages and wines), there will also be another area with cheeses from Moura, Serra da Estrela, and Serra da Gardunha, or Mirandela, joining those of Serpa and Nisa.

The big news for this year will be the existence of the “wine by the glass” modality so that visitors can taste their favorite wines with the stands of the producers themselves. For this, a glass alluding to the event must be purchased, and the Algarve Wine Route will have "special emphasis".

Altogether there will be more than 30 stands which will promote and publicize the best in the wine sector, with wines also from Beira Interior and Dão and Douro, and cheese, as well as regional production of sweets, liqueurs and sausages.

According to Bruno Lage, president of AmbiFaro, «this event, like the previous ones, will bring the Faro a sector still unknown by many, allowing its visitors to deepen their knowledge in an area of great strategic interest for the economy of our country and that needs to be valued and promoted, reinforcing territorial cohesion and the importance of endogenous products in the economy, in Portuguese tradition and identity».

This initiative, like previous editions, is free to enter. On Friday, at 18:30 pm, there will be a workshop on “Technical Wine Tasting”, by the oenophile Gilmar Brito. Enrollment in this workshop is limited to 20 places, so interested parties must register with AmbiFaro by phone 289897250.

The Fair is open from Thursday to Friday, from 17:00 pm to 23:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 am to 23:00 pm.
