The Caravel “Boa Esperança” was stranded, “about 4 miles downstream of Alcoutim”, but this Wednesday morning, April 5, a refloating operation (re)placed the operational vessel.

This action, coordinated by the Captain of the Port of Vila Real de Santo António, even started on Tuesday, but was only completed yesterday, at high tide, "due to the size and displacement" of the Caravela, whose management is in charge of the Algarve Tourism Region.

In this operation, the National Maritime Authority involved three members of the Vila Real de Santo António lifeguard station, supported by a boat, and two Maritime Police officers from the Vila Real de Santo António Local Command.

In the incident there were no victims to register.
