The Pedagogical Gardens that the Parish Council of Olhão helped to install in the parish's first cycle schools are ready for harvest and will be publicly presented on March 21. The municipality takes advantage of the World Day of Trees and Forests to make it known this project, which aims to awaken in children «the interest in healthy eating and sustainable consumption».

"The project, very well received by students and teachers of pre-school and 1st cycle, also has the participation of parents who have contributed with seeds and plants," according to the Parish Council of Olhão, whose president, Luciano Jesus, will be at 10:00 am on March 21 at the EB1 school in Largo da Feira, for the public presentation of the project.

«Getting your hands dirty in the earth, to learn, from planting to harvesting, the journey from vegetables to the plate, proves to be essential learning for many children who have never had any contact with agriculture. The assembly of the plots and compost bins was carried out by the team from the green spaces of the Parish of Olhão, using imagination and recycling materials such as pallets», according to the Junta de Freguesia olhão.
