The entrepreneurs behind the growing openness of hostels e guesthouses in Portimão are the guests for the first Beta Talk of 2017, scheduled for Friday, February 17th, at 19 pm, at Café Concerto at TEMPO - Teatro Municipal de Portimão.

The initiative will allow you to be in conversation with five owners of hostels ou guesthouses from the municipality of Portimão: “City Stork Hostel”, “Aloha Hostel”, “Villa Prana Guest House & Therapies”, “Villa Joaninha” and “Alvor Ar de Mar”. Those responsible for these five spaces accepted the challenge with enthusiasm and will share their experiences with Beta Talk participants.

Armindo Cunha and his wife Ana Marta opened, on August 6, 2014, the City Stork Hostel, in the historic center of the city of Portimão.

At the base of this business was the need to monetize an existing space on the upper floor of a store belonging to the family and, at the same time, the desire to change the lives of this young couple.

The idea was to create a hostel that was guided by the difference in the quality provided, through a personalized, familiar service and comfort in the accommodation, to show the best that the Algarve has to offer.

This new life project has been a huge source of knowledge, discovery and daily sharing with all the guests who have been there and registered an excellent feedback of their experience, as evidenced by the assessment of 9,2, for two consecutive years, on the website Some of the guests are already considered “friends” who return to City Stork Hostel every year.

In search of a new life project, Vasco Inácio inaugurated the Aloha-Hostel, on the 1st of August 2016, in the center of the city of Portimão.

The ambition of giving a new professional direction to your life, having your own business and living new experiences, made this project real. This business area fits your personal tastes, such as the pleasure of communicating, the love of welcoming others, the love of meeting new people, new cultures and promoting your city. At the moment, the business is still at an early stage, but with positive expectations.

The option of not fulfilling the dream of creating a business for two led David Coelho and Sílvia Duarte to open on January 23, 2016, with a lot of effort, dedication and joy, the Villa Prana Guest House & Therapies, in Portimão.
more than one guesthouse ou studio, Villa Prana is a space for physical, mental and spiritual health that combines the professional experiences of its owners. While guesthouse aims to promote a relaxed family atmosphere, focused on promoting yoga retreats, or even group accommodation, benefiting from an excellent location between the beach and the countryside.

Based on an innovative concept/fusion at national level, it aims to promote health and tranquility in city spaces.
Located in Praia da Rocha, the Villa Joaninha opened doors like guesthouse in July 2012 and is the result of a set of happy coincidences and the desire to receive those who visit us in a different way.

Despite the difficulties felt along the way, this has been a challenging project lived with the family, and an experience to share in this Beta Talk, by Sofia de Landerset.

In May 2015, the Alvor ArdeMar opened its doors, fulfilling a family desire to give life to a new business that emphasizes the human side and welcoming those who visit the municipality, actively contributing to its promotion as a tourist destination.

Cristina Meireles will share this experience, despite some procedural difficulties, it has been proving to be very enriching and positive in terms of business.
