A 57-year-old fisherman has been missing since this Saturday morning, after allegedly having fallen off a cliff in Maré das Porcas, between the beaches of Coelha and S. Rafael, in Albufeira. Searches to find the man continue, but the Judiciary Police are investigating the case.

According to Correio da Manhã (CM), the 57-year-old Romanian fisherman, was accompanied by a 70-year-old Moldovan friend when he fell overboard at around 7:00 am.

However, the alert to the authorities was only given around midday, as the fishing partner “only warned the victim's wife at 09:00 am” and the woman, “in turn, two hours later alerted the GNR and this the Maritime Police», adds the same newspaper.

The PJ is investigating the case and, according to the CM, "heard, yesterday afternoon, as witnesses, the friend and wife of the disappeared."

The searches, which, this Saturday, involved an ISN boat from Ferragudo and the Lancha Orion, at sea, and two teams of the Maritime Police, by land, have yet to yield results.

According to commander Santos Arrabaça, from the Port of Portimão, cited by the CM, "dives were also carried out in the place where the fisherman fell, but no trace was detected".

This morning, the search perimeter has already been extended.
