A concert by João Pedro Pais, the presentation of three municipal projects, the delivery of prizes and tributes, the signing of protocols with clubs and even the launch of a book are the main events scheduled for January 21st, Saturday, the day before the holiday Municipality of Vila do Bispo.
On the 22nd, the day will be dedicated to the most solemn events. Thus, after the raising of the flag at Largo do Município, with the interpretation of the National Anthem, played by the flutist Maja Raciborska, follows the Solemn Session of the Municipal Assembly of Vila do Bispo, in the Main Hall of the City Hall.
Because January 22 is the day of S. Vicente, at 10:30 am, the mass begins, followed by the procession dedicated to the patron saint of the municipality, in the Pavilion of EB 2,3 in Vila do Bispo.
At 15:30 pm, at the Farol of Cabo de S. Vicente, the inauguration of the Monument in Honor of S. Vicente will take place, with the performance of the choir “The Western Algarve Community Choir”.
But the festivities for the municipal holiday began yesterday, the 8th, with a Meeting of Janeiras, at the Educational and Community Center in Budens, organized by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo, and continue until January 29, with cultural initiatives , religious and sports.
Thus, on Saturday, the 14th, at 15 pm, the 00th Exhibition of Artists of the Municipality of Vila do Bispo will be inaugurated, at the Interpretation Centre. At 18 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium, the “Morphosis” concert will take place, with jazz trumpeter Hugo Alves and accordionist João Frade.
On Sunday, the 15th, at 9:30 am, the Marcha Corrida de Burgau will take place, while on Friday, the 20th of January, at 21:30 pm, the festival is scheduled to pass through the Igreja Matriz in Vila do Bispo «Video Luce», which takes cinema to the churches of the Algarve. The film “O Lamento da Vereda”, by Satyajit Ray, will be screened, in an initiative of the Cineclube de Faro and of the Diocese of Algarve, integrated in the 365 Algarve program.
On the 28th, Saturday, at 20:30 pm, the Igreja Matriz in Vila do Bispo receives the concert “Cantata Mundi”, with the Grupo Coral Ossónoba.
The next day, to close the celebrations, the Budens Educational and Community Multiservice Center receives, at 16 pm, the “Parish Day” show and conviviality, organized by the Fábrica da Igreja de Budens.
